Everyone finished leveling up except for Teran, who was sick. He and his bear vanished mysteriously for a few days.
After leveling up, the players left the kobold’s lair and started traveling and reconnoitering towards Oleg’s Outpost. They met a farmer and his daughter, who turned out to be one of the girls that the players saved from a couple of thylacines weeks before. The man offered some carrots as a reward, but Pim was unimpressed. He invited the players to dinner, and they accepted.
At the farmer’s house, he and his wife shared some news:
- The main trade route between the River Kingdoms and Brevoy is the East Sellen River. It goes through a swampy area called the Hooktongue Slough. Unfortunately, this trade route is closed because of boggard attacks. These boggards live in the swamp and see the traders as outsiders.
- A group of evil monks and priests of the goddess of hatred and spite once lived on the northern shore of the Tuskwater. The farmer and his wife think there are still cultists out there, and that they’re behind the increasing bandit raids.
The next morning, you continued exploring and heading toward Oleg’s. You found what seems to be an hitherto unknown gold mine. Then you came upon the radish patch you’d been to before. Near the patch, an owlbear surprised you! It charged straight for Lore and took a swipe at her and grabbed her. Lore quickly cast her sleep spell despite being grabbed. You all snuck away as the owlbear napped.
